Violation of rules reason for road deaths: ACP Muralikrishna

Vijayawada: Youth should follow traffic rules and save their lives, said West Zone ACP (Traffic) Muralikrishna.

He participated in a programme organised by KBN College NSS wing on ‘Traffic Rules and Awareness’ on the college premises on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the ACP said that the youth were risking their life by not following the traffic rules.

He said that the youth were subjected to fatal accidents due to rash and reckless driving as fashion.

CI Rajendra Prasad said that about 380 road accidents occur per year and as many as 680 people are subject to permanent disability which was a serious case of concern. 

He said that a family losing a head, parents losing a son in road mishap was a big concern these days.

The college principal Dr Narayana Rao said that most of the deaths were due to road accidents globally.

NSS programme officers, traffic police officials and students were present.
