Update: 2018-09-22 05:30 IST

Anantapur: MP J C Diwakar Reddy defended his comments on the inefficiency of the police personnel on duty on the day of recent clash which took place between the Prabhodananda Swamy ashramites and the villagers of Chinapolamada and Peddaplamada in Tadipatri mandal.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Diwakar Reddy said that the word 'Kojja' used by him was common in Rayalaseema terminology which meant that one is inefficient or inactive. He also called himself 'Kojja' as he too ran away from the scene of the clash along with the police to save himself. He however said that he is tendering apology if that was taken in a derogatory manner.

Reacting to the comment of Gorantla Madhav, secretary of District Police Officers Association, that he would cut the tongues of those who made derogatory remarks against the police, Diwakar said that he is available in the district until September 25 and he will be available for ‘tongue-cut’.
He challenged Madhav to carry out his threat before September 25.

The MP said that he had great respect for Godmen but not for Prabhodananda Swamy who is fake and engaged in illegal activities in the ashram.  He alleged that the Swamy had three wives while one is no more the other two are living with him. The 3-man committee appointed by Collector Veera Pandian would probe into all the complaints against Swamy.
