Krishnaveni Pushkar Ghat cleaned in Vijayawada
As per the instructions given by Vijayawada Municipal Commissioner J Nivas, the Health department and the members of NGO Vivekananda Youth Trust VYT participated in cleaning of Krishnaveni Pushkar Ghat as part of Swatchhta Hi Seva from 6 am to 9 am on Sunday
Vijayawada: As per the instructions given by Vijayawada Municipal Commissioner J Nivas, the Health department and the members of NGO Vivekananda Youth Trust (VYT) participated in cleaning of Krishnaveni Pushkar Ghat as part of Swatchhta Hi Seva from 6 am to 9 am on Sunday.
The cleaning programme was headed by the health officer K Arjuna Rao.
Rao said that out of 400 cities with population above 10 lakhs, Vijayawada city was declared the first in the clean city category and said that this cleaning programme was organised to create awareness among the people of the city on cleanliness and hygiene.
He complemented VYT for participating in the programme. He further said that it was the basic responsibility of the citizens to keep the environment clean.
SMO Iqbal Hussain, CMO Dr Raju, liaison officer Koteswara Rao, members of VYT and others were present.
