Vijayawada: To mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Sarvodaya Trust, Vijayawada would organise a three-day Gandhiji Jayanthi celebrations starting from October 2.
Assembly Deputy Speaker Mandlai Buddha Prasad would be the chief guest of the occasion and would inaugurate a book festival and unveil a portrait of MK Gandhi. The three-day celebrations would be organised at Gandhi Vignana Mandiram at Freedom-fighters building. The exhibition will be open from October 2 to 5 from 4 pm to 8 pm.
The celebration will be involving students, youth and women from all parts of the district to study and create awareness on Gandian principles, said Krishna District Freedom Fighters Association president M Venkateswara Rao.
