The Police Martyrs Day marathon run was organised from the police head quarters in Ongole town on Sunday morning.
The SP Bhusarapu Satya Yesubabu said that the police department is organising the Police Martyr Week from October 15 to 21.
He said that as part of the week long programmes, the police are conducting open house, elocutions and other awareness programmes for children.
They organized Police Martyrs Day marathon run today, to remember the sacrifices of the policemen to keep the society peaceful.
He added that they are remembering the six martyrs especially from the district along with others and taking inspiration from them and also conducting welfare programs for the police families in the district.
