Srikakulam: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reiterated that he would stay in Srikakulam until normalcy is restored in the cyclone-hit district. Naidu told the local people that he would celebrate Dasara festival with them.

“I will be here till normalcy is restored and celebrate Dasara with you as all of you are in deep trouble created by Titli cyclone,” the Chief Minister said to the people in Srikakulam district while touring the cyclone-affected areas on Wednesday.

He visited several villages in Tekkali, Kotabommali and Santhabommali mandals on Wednesday. On the other hand, Ministers N Lokesh, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, K Srinivasulu, S Chandramohan Reddy, P Pulla Rao and others also toured in different cyclone-affected mandals, supervised relief works and distributed essential commodities.

Impressed with the huge response from people at Santhabommali mandal centre, the Chief Minister said normalcy will be restored in the district in two days including power supply.

He inspected marooned farm fields at Kakarapalli village in Santhabommali mandal. The Chief Minister enquired over food arrangements, water and essentials supply. He consoled kin of K Appalaswamy at Vaddithandra village who died due to Titli cyclone.

The Chief Minister assured new houses under the NTR housing scheme for victims who lost their houses. Naidu said that Srikakulam will be improved in a short span if a road is developed along the coast from Itchapuram to Visakhapatnam parallel to National highway (NH-16).

The Chief Minister criticised attitude of YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan over the cyclone victims.
He pointed out that the Jana Sena chief reached the district one week after it was hit by Cyclone Titli.

While the YSRCP president and Opposition leader Jagan is yet to visit the cyclone victims though he is on a Padayatra in the neighbouring Vizianagaram district, he said. Naidu wondered why the BJP-led NDA government is yet to respond on the financial aid sought for the cyclone victims in Srikakulam.
