Chittoor: After a prolonged dry spell in the last three months, heavy rain lashed Chittoor city on Wednesday. As a result, rainwater has entered the houses at Church Street, Hospital Road and MSR Junction. Traffic was disrupted at several junctions as drain water was overflowing on to the roads.
Power supply was stopped as a precautionary measure for two hours and uprooting of trees was also reported. Water inundated in several low-lying colonies. Chittoor Municipal Corporation Commissioner C Obulesu said that they are taking steps to clear the drain water for the free flow of traffic.
