Pithapuram: Villagers of Durgada in Gollaprolu mandal celebrated Vijaya Dashami by presenting 108 festival delicacies, 365 sarees and 1108 bangles to presiding deity at Lalitha Bhavani temple on Friday.

The ‘Maha nivedana’ held with delicacies presented by each house hold in the village. They also presented sarees to the Goddess where she was adorned 365 sarees.

Special puja performed to Lord Uma Ramalingeswara Swamy. The temple filled with delicacies presented by the devotees.

Priests presented them to the Goddess. Later delicacies were distributed to the devotees. ‘Anna prasadam’ served to ‘Bhavanis’.

365 sarees with different colours and designs were decorated to Goddess Lalitha Bhavani. Later they were distributed to the villagers.

Deities in the temple Lalitha Devi and Umambika were decorated with 1108 bangles.

The women folk spent two days to achieve this task.

The devotees believe that decorating Goddess with sarees and bangles and presenting 108 festival delicacies will bring prosperity to the village.
