AP CM: Strive for innovation

Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu called upon the industrialists and experts of various sectors to strive for innovations aiming to develop the society as well as the country.

The organisations and individuals should utilise the information technology at maximum level to lead the comfort lifestyle, he said while adding that the  Andhra Pradesh government was forging ahead with digitalisation in all the administrative machinery.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the five-day Vizag Fintech Festival here in which over 2,000 delegates from industry, service sector, academia and government officials are participating. 

While delivering inaugural address, Chandrababu Naidu said that his government introduced the information technology in all key sectors, including agriculture and its associate departments and was registering good results.

“The Andhra Pradesh government’s aim is ‘visible governance-invisible government. 

The government built best ecosystem in the state to promote finance, agriculture, IT, tourism and industry. Everyone is now looking at Andhra Pradesh, and Visakhapatnam in particular. 

The government is creating world’s best infrastructure and strengthening the key resources, including groundwater, soils, rivers, power and high skilled human resources. 

All the core departments are interlinked with the ‘e-pragati’ and are registering fastest growth in the state. 

The present GSDP in the state is 10.3 per cent and we will not rest until achieving 15 per cent,” Naidu said.

After creating a most favourable ecosystem, the government is now developing the state as an Innovation Valley. 

The Andhra Pradesh government is welcoming the investors and industrialists and would provide maximum extent of cooperation to take up the state into the next level of development, he added.

Minister for IT, panchayat raj and rural development Nara Lokesh 

explained the opportunities available at Vizag Fintech Valley. 

In order to promote more start-ups, ensuring to launch more innovations, the government was conducting competitions and also offering cash prizes to the innovative technologies in various sectors, including agritech, emerging tech, Fintech and more, he added.

With the help of the advanced technologies, the government had registered 24 per cent growth rate in agriculture sector in 2017, despite getting 18 per cent less rainfall. 

This year also there is 24 percent less rainfall, but the government is registering 16 percent growth rate in agriculture sector. 

He explained the technology utilisation in each department in the state. 

HRD ninister Ganta Srinivasa Rao, special chief secretary to IT J A Chowdary, principal secretary to IT K Vijayanand also spoke.
