National Epilepsy Day on Nov 17

Vijayawada: Over 30 million people suffer from various brain related diseases and about 12 million people in India suffer from epilepsy, said Dr B Sandeep, neurologist, Ramesh Hospital in the city on Thursday.

Addressing media, he said that National Epilepsy Day was observed on November 17 across the nation to create awareness on the disease. He said that people who suffer from epilepsy should consult the doctor for treatment and lead a normal life. 

He said epilepsy is a brain related disease. He said that 80 per cent of patients could be treated with medicines and the rest needs surgery, said Dr Sandeep.
