With more and more manufacturers paying a close attention to the developing new market for hybrid cars in India, Hyundai showcased their highly acclaimed Sonata hybrid sedan at the 2016 Auto Expo.
2016 Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) is on sale in the US at $34,600.
With more and more manufacturers paying a close attention to the developing new market for hybrid cars in India, Hyundai showcased their highly acclaimed Sonata hybrid sedan at the 2016 Auto Expo. Though they do not have any plans for launching the car in India yet, there is a possibility that we can see the Sonata hybrid in India soon, as the company tries to raise its brand image in the eyes of their consumers.
2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid has a driving range of over 965 km on a full charge and a single tank of fuel. It can go up to 43 km on pure electric power. Sporting a host of safety equipment, 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is currently on sale in California, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont.
2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-liter gas engine and an electric motor that offer combined power of 202 hp at 6,000 rpm and 190 Nm torque. The car offers a 99 mile per gallon (42.08 kmpl) fuel rating. It sports a 9.8 kWh battery which can be charged via an external electric power source in less than 9 hours via a Level One 120V outlet and in under 3 hours on a Level Two 240V charging station.
Best in class features and safety technology are the highlights of this model. Onboard equipment includes hands-free Smart Trunk, Dimension premium audio system, an 8” touchscreen navigation, Blind Spot Detection System and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. 2016 Hyundai Sonata PHEV Hybrid is being produced by the company Asan plant in South Korea.
