After launching its small off-road bike, the KLX 110, for kids, Kawasaki has launched a similar offering with slightly bigger engine for teens in India. Recently, the company also launched two of its motocross bikes in India: the KX100, for beginners, and KX250F, for profession riders. Being proper off-roaders, these motorcycles are not road-legal and can be used on off-road tracks only.

The KLX 140Gis powered by a 4-stroke, fuel-injected, 144cc engine. The high-revving SOHC motor gets a 58mm bore and 54.4mm stroke and comes mated to a five-speed transmission with manual clutch. The motorcycle gets push-button keyless ignitionelectric start and 33mm telescopic forks at the front and a link-type Uni-Trak monoshock unit at the rear which is five-way preload adjustable. The set-up provides a travel of around 180mm at both ends to soak up bumps without any trouble. It gets a box-style, high tensile steel frame. The handlebar is rubber-mounted to reduce vibrations and the motorcycle gets 2-stage engagement which facilitates half clutch use when riding at extremely low rpm or idling speeds.

The Kawasaki KLX 140 comes with special off-roading tyres on durable spokes 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels and has a saddle height of 860mm. Braking duties are handled by a 220mm petal disc with a dual-piston calliper at the front, while the rear gets a 190mm petal disc with single-piston calliper.The muffler comes equipped with spark arrester. The motorcycle weighs just 99kgs and gets a 5.8-litre fuel tank. The KLX140G is offered in a single Lime Green colour option.
