Last month KTM updated its entire RC lineup, now the automaker is ready to bring in the new Duke 390 and Duke 200 with the launch announced for Thursday. The 2017 KTM Duke 390 will be a completely different bike than what the outgoing model is. The motorcycle will now get LED headlamps and a new LED tail-lamp setup.

The fuel tank capacity of the motorbike has been increased to 13-litres. The Duke 390 gets a new TFT instrument console with a hands-free audio player. The sub-frame has been re-designed and the front wheel now rides on a new open-cartridge model. The engine used on the 2017 Duke 390 is the same 373cc single-cylinder motor.

The powerplant now satisfies BS-IV emission norms due to its new three-way catalytic converter and a new exhaust pipe. The new engine produces 44 BHP of power and 37 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and gets ABS and slipper clutch as standard.

Coming to the 2017 KTM Duke 200, the bike might get some cosmetic updates same as KTM did for the RC 200. The Duke 200 still misses out on some important safety features like ABS. The Duke 200 has been the first bike that KTM launched for the Indian market, KTM has built on its success and could restrict updates to offer their entry-level bike at an attractive price.

The 2017 KTM Duke 390 will be priced at a premium of Rs 15,000-20,000/- compared to the current model, but the price increase for the 2017 Duke 200 will be minimal. When launched, the new Duke 390 will compete against the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Yamaha R3.
