Royal Enfield Himalayan BS4 Priced At 1.91 lakh
The Royal Enfield Himalayan BS4 has been launched, albeit quietly and you won’t hear the company release any info of its re-launch because they never discontinued it ‘officially’ in the first place. Sales stopped in March 2017 and now the Himalayan is back with the British brand taking time to rectify all the quality and reliability issues of the motorcycle.

More importantly, it now gets fuel injection.
I rode the Royal Enfield Himalayan BS4 earlier today and found the engine to be smooth and refined, the bike also felt better put-together although I did have trouble with false neutrals. There is little to distinguish this motorcycle from the BS3 version as RE hasn’t made any cosmetic changes other than the blackened out fuel cap and handlebar.
In terms of mechanicals, the Himalayan FI gets a new clutch assembly, revised gearbox for smoother shifts, new rocker arm, changed settings of the side stand warning (it doesn’t let the engine idle for long) and of course a higher price.
The increase isn’t much though as the Himalayan BS4 is priced at Rs. 1.91 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai) with some increase also being due to GST (bikes above 350cc got expensive under the new indirect tax).
The Royal Enfield Himalayan continues to produce the same power and torque as before which is 24.5 HP and 32 Nm but it does feel more punchy due to fuel injection. Bookings are now open across all Royal Enfield showrooms with deliveries set to commence by the end of this month.
