Kothagudem: The Singareni Thermal Power Plant near Jaipur in Mancherial district has been ranked eighth best among the list of 25 such units in the country by the Electricity Authority for the last six months in this financial year by achieving the highest plant load factor (PLF).

Its performance percentage is 86.87. No other thermal plant in the two Telugu states has achieved such distinction. The Ramagundam Super Thermal Station, with PLF of 82.04 per cent, bagged the 19th rank. The 750-mw Bugde Bugde thermal unit in West Bengal, with PLF of 99.77 per cent, stood first in the country.

Singareni Collieries Company Ltd Chairman and Managing Director S Sridhar, while hailing its performance, congratulated the Singareni plant employees. He advised them to perform well to achieve better PLF. The Singareni thermal plant, thanks to the relentless supervision of Sridhar, has been performing very well, with the unit I achieving 100 per cent PLF in last April.

The II unit also secured the landmark in February and May. During the last six months, the plant generated 4,613 Million Units (MU) and supplied 4,325 MU to the National Grid. Since its inauguration the plant till last month generated 8,862 MU.
