Mumbai: Utility vehicle major Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) on Tuesday launched updated version of Mahindra KUV100, its mini sports utility vehicle (SUV), within 21 months of the SUV’s maiden rollout in January 2016.

The revised version, Mahindra KUV100 NXT, is equipped with 40 new features and bolder design elements as the automaker looks to expand the mini SUV’s appeal.

Priced from Rs4.39 lakh to Rs7.33 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the new model, like its predecessor, comes in petrol and diesel power trains. Petrol avatar is powered by 1.2-litre VVT engine that delivers 82 bhp power while the turbo-charged diesel engine with similar displacement returns 77 bhp power.

“We have always been a listening organisation and in line with that, we have managed to successfully launch the new KUV100 within 21 months. With its unique proposition, I firmly believe that the KUV100 NXT will reaffirm our customers’ faith in Mahindra’s abilities to create class leading products,” Dr Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, said at the launch.

He further said that Mahindra would roll out an electric version of KUV100 in a year or so. “Electric mobility is among the five disruptions that automotive industry will go through, with others being shift towards petrol, shared mobility, driverless vehicles and infotainment. We will bring out electric versions of all of our vehicles in future. The electric KUV100 will be out in a year,” he said.
