2018 Ducati Monster 821 revealed
The 2018 Ducati Monster 821 has been unveiled by the Italian automaker and it takes inspiration from the iconic Monster 900 launched at the Cologne Show in 1992.

The new model gets revised styling, a TFT instrument cluster and is equipped with Ducati Safety Pack as well, which lends it Bosch three-level ABS and an eight-level Ducati Traction Control system.
The new Monster borrows its fuel tank and headlamp section from its elder sibling while the fuel tank lock is inspired from the original Monster 900. The headlamp gets LED daytime running lights which lend a sophisticated touch to the motorcycle. The twin-barrel exhausts look sweet and go well with the revised tail.
The Ducati Monster 821 continues to be powered by a 821cc twin-cylinder Testastretta engine which develops 109 PS of power and 86 Nm of torque. Power figures are down by 2 PS due to stricter emission norms. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and offers three modes to choose from – Sport, Touring and Urban. Braking duties are handled by Brembo M4-32 radial callipers biting down on dual 320 mm discs at the front.
Suspension system on offer includes 43 mm USD front forks and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. Coloured instrument cluster is one of the main highlights of the 2018 Monster which displays riding mode, fuel level and gear position as well. The SuperSport maker has made bi-directional quick shifter and Ducati Multimedia System available as optional extras.
The 2018 Ducati Monster 821 is the first of the five new models slated to be unveiled this year. Wraps will be taken off from the other motorcycles in November at the Ducati World Premier, and later at the EICMA 2017. The Monster 821 is expected to debut in India next year to take the fight to the likes of the Kawasaki Z900 and Triumph Street Triple.
