Renault has delayed the launch of the Captur in India. The premium crossover was expected to arrive in showrooms by this Diwali, however, now, if sources are to be believed, the launch of the vehicle is expected to take place sometime in November.

While the exact reasons for the delay in the launch are unknown, there are speculations that Renault is still deciding on the pricing of the Captur. One more reason could be the negative publicity caused by the misleading YouTube advertisement. However, nothing is certain as of yet.

Meanwhile, the French carmaker is taking bookings for the Captur which can be made online and through the Renault Captur app for Rs. 25,000/-. Talking about pricing, the crossover could be priced between Rs 12-16 lakh. The Captur, although, has the same powertrains and platform as the Duster, will be slotted above the latter due to the features it brings to the table.

The top-end Platine trim comes with LED headlamps with Sapphire LED DRLs, dynamic turn signals (front only), 17-inch alloy wheels, ripple tail-lights, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Navigation, leather upholstery and Ambient Lighting.

The Renault Captur draws power from 1.5-litre petrol and diesel motors. The 1.5-litre petrol unit makes 106 HP and 142 Nm of torque, and comes paired to a 5-speed manual transmission, while the 1.5-litre diesel mill churns out 110 HP and 240 Nm of torque, and comes paired to a six-speed manual transmission.
