BMW Group celebrates 100th birthday this year, this model is part of that celebration.Along with the Rolls Royce Vision Next 100, BMW Group has also unveiled a MINI Vision Next 100 alongside. Celebrating their 100th birthday this year, with Vision Next 100 campaign BMW wants to show the world about readiness for the next 100 years.

Speaking about the MINI Vision 100, it is unlike any other MINI concept we have seen till date. Gone are the retro looks, which in fact made the MINI a car for all generations. Replacing the retro design is a much cleaner design that also looks modern.

Wrapped in a discreet, silver skin, MINI of the future need not be owned by an individual to enjoy its benefits. BMW believes that in the future it will be more of a car sharing thing, than owning. The connected MINI of the future will be a perfect example of urban commuting. Available 24×7, you will be able to order as and when required.

Fully autonomous, each MINI could be customized to your taste. This makes a strong point in promoting car sharing. BMW Group Design senior VP Adrian van Hooydonk said – “MINI looks to offer smart and bespoke mobility in cities that engages all the senses. And in the future, you might not actually have to own a vehicle to enjoy the benefits.”

Though a fully autonomous vehicle, you will also be able to drive the MINI Vision Next 100 as and when you want. It comes with a conventional steering wheel. To add to its driving fun, this concept also gets John Cooper Works performance mode.

Another interesting fact to be noted, when in autonomous mode, the steering wheel and pedals will slide inside the dashboard for added legroom and kneeroom to the driver. The steering wheel and pedals can also be shifted on the right as well as on the left, depending on the country you are driving the car. All done at the touch of a button.

There is also a Inspire Me button onboard the new MINI Concept. This button basically downloads user data and figures out what interests you. It can be your favourite track or an artist you like, and so on. Or it can suggest you what you can do during your free time, like head to a challenging track nearby.
