New Bajaj Pulsar variants to deliver more power, be more fuel efficient
A new wave of Pulsar motorcycles are soon going to hit the Indian streets. 3 new Bajaj Pulsar variants will be launched by the end of this year, which will replace the existing line of Pulsar 150, Pulsar 180 and Pulsar 220. All three Pulsar motorcycles have been on sale without receiving an update for a really long time.
A new wave of Pulsar motorcycles are soon going to hit the Indian streets. 3 new Bajaj Pulsar variants will be launched by the end of this year, which will replace the existing line of Pulsar 150, Pulsar 180 and Pulsar 220. All three Pulsar motorcycles have been on sale without receiving an update for a really long time.
Spied testing in and around Bajaj’s plant in Pune, the new range of Pulsar 150, 180 and 220 will receive refined engine, which will not only deliver more power, but also be more fuel efficient – confirmed Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto.
Bajaj Auto Limited, is suffering a slight slowdown in the 150-200 cc motorcycle category and is keen to augment its position as No 1 with a slew of new product launches. The new Pulsar 150 and 180 variants, could be launched in the much awaited NS format. In addition to that, Bajaj could also upgrade the engines to meet BSIV emission norms, from existing BSIII norms.
Spied testing earlier, Pulsar 150 NS and 180 NS variants will come with changes like mono-shock rear suspension, underbody exhaust system, fuel tank and headlight cluster is similar to that of 200 NS (now discontinued), split seats with 180 NS, etc. It is to be noted that Bajaj is already manufacturing the 150 NS and 180 NS models in India, but they are only for exports as of now.
Updated Pulsar 220F could also receive a monoshock rear suspension for better handling. One common update we can expect to see on all three Pulsar’s is the addition of CBS (Combi-Brake System) and ABS, as the Govt of India has made it compulsary for manufacturers to offer these features as standard on all new two wheelers launched after April 2017 (deadline for existing two wheelers is April 2018).
Apart from that, the three new bikes could be offered with a range of new decals / styling which would make it more appealing than it is today. Before the Pulsar 150, 180 and 220 are updated, Bajaj will launch the VS400 under a completely new brand name. Read more about it here.
