All Variants Now Come With The 205/65 R16 Tyres

For all variants of the Innova Crysta to be produced from 2017 onwards, Toyota will offer the same tyre profile and alloy wheels. In other words, the standard tyre size will be 205/65 R16, wrapped around 16-inch alloy wheels across all the trim-levels of the MPV. The larger 215/55 R17 tyres which came as a part of the standard kit in the top-spec ZX variant of the Innova Crysta have been ditched by the Japanese carmaker.

This change will surely receive criticisms from those who hate to diminish the visual aesthetics of their beloved cars but bear with the Japanese because there is method behind this perceived madness. First of all, 16-inch tyres are easier to find and there are more tyre manufacturers to choose from. Second, when it’s time to replace the tyres, 16-inchers will be more pocket-friendly. Third, and most important, with a smaller size but bigger and thicker sidewall of the tyre, the Innova Crysta not only promises to be a lot more comfortable on the move but also less prone to damaging its own shoes.

The Toyota Innova Crysta is regarded as one of the best chauffeur-driven cars in India around the Rs 20 lakh mark. Toyota certainly doesn’t want it to lose that tag and hence took this step to enhance the comfort factor of the overall ownership experience. The Innova Crysta is on offer with an option of a petrol and two diesel engines. Prices for the MPV start at Rs 13.99 lakh for the base petrol variant and go up to Rs 21.19 lakh (both prices ex-showroom Delhi) for the range-topping diesel model.
