Make yourself a priority and take time to care for yourself. Here are a few tips to keep you fit as a fiddle

  • Eat more fruits and veggies.
  • Include a variety of whole grains, beans, legumes to give you filling fiber and try brown rice instead of white. Switch to whole wheat pasta.
  • Choose lean proteins like poultry, fish, beans, and legumes.
  • Cut down on processed foods, sugar, salt, and saturated fat.
  • Eat calcium rich food, it's important to get plenty of calcium to support your bone health.
  • Make sure you get enough iron. Many women don't get enough iron in their diet. And on top of that; women lose a lot of this important mineral during menstruation.
  • Cut back on alcohol and caffeine.
  • Cut calories by avoiding foods which are high in solid fats and added sugar. Limit fatty meats like ribs, bacon, and hot dogs. Choose cakes, cookies, candies, and ice cream as just occasional treats.
  • Set a goal to fit in at least 2'/2 hours of moderate physical activity in your week. Being active 10 minutes at a time also adds to your weekly total. Don't forget to do some muscle-strengthening activities twice a week.
