Super-Max Personal Care Private Limited, the world’s second largest manufacturer of razor blades, has expanded its manufacturing facility in the city by setting up a new sputtering machine which will enable the company to produce premium blades for overseas markets.

Hyderabad: Super-Max Personal Care Private Limited, the world’s second largest manufacturer of razor blades, has expanded its manufacturing facility in the city by setting up a new sputtering machine which will enable the company to produce premium blades for overseas markets. Nayeni Narsimha Reddy, Home Minister of Telangana, inaugurated the machine at the plant, a 100 per cent export oriented unit, in Jeedimetla on Friday.

Later speaking to media, Subhash Chaudhuri, the company’s Vice-President (Strategy and Corporate Affairs), said the company has a turnover of about Rs 1,200 crore in India. Of this, nearly Rs 500 crore revenues come from overseas sales. It has the six manufacturing facilities in India with total production capacity of about 60 lakh double-edged blades in addition to around five lakh units of systems and disposables.

Globally, the company has plants in Bangladesh, Mexico and Dubai. It is now planning to expand its reach by establishing plants in Brazil, Egypt and South-East Asia. “We always set up our plants near to the markets so that we could bring down cost of products. At present, we are exporting to 150 countries,” Chaudhuri said.
