MUMBAI: In order to tap India’s USD 2 billion after-sales automobile market, Autoyaar – an online marketplace for automobile servicing, providing, listing and booking for two and four wheelers – announced the launch of its operations here in the city. It is contemplating to expand its footprints in Mumbai, Pune and New Delhi soon.

About 60 percent of the automobile servicing industry in India falls under the unorganised segment. The reliability, quality and marked disparity in pricing associated with vehicle service are major sore points for the customer which forces them to end up compromising on their vehicle’s service. In a quest to find solutions to these glitches and with an aim to fill up a void that is probably going to change the face of the automobile service industry was launched Autoyaar.com by four friends Amisha Shah, Abhishek Gupta, Sunil Gupta and Bharat Ostwal.

Autoyaar.com – a first of its kind aggregator platform and a one-stop solution for all automobile service needs – claims to save 30-50 per cent of your service costs, providing a unified service experience with its verified network of service providers. “Autoyaar is unifying the unorganised automobile service industry into a single organised platform. It has more than 1,000 automobile service providers listed, out of which, 63 are handpicked and verified for online bookings basis a pre-defined criterion and checklist of selection which include infrastructure, service capacity, technology, automobile experience and much more to ensure that quality of services is maintained. These include names like Bosch Car Service, CarzSpa and Castrol Pitstop,” said Bharat Ostwal, Co-Founder & Director, Vroom Technologies Private Limited.

The start-up has catered to more than 500 customers so far. Customers can pick, compare and choose from a host of service providers based on cost, locality, make and model of the vehicle as well as services desired. Detailed profiles of the service providers, which includes real-time pictures, a list of services and facilities, reviews and ratings help the customer make an informed choice; all of this just in a few clicks.

“It is extremely unfair that the private workshops in India are branded as local garages despite providing good services at a very cost-effective price. Online is a powerful medium and with Autoyaar.com, every private workshop can have its online identity and can showcase its infrastructure and services in a transparent manner thus assisting customers to take an educated decision on where to avail what services. This is a win-win situation for all involved, a strong sign for a positive change in the automotive service eco-system,” emphasises Sunil Gupta, Co-Founder & Director of the Company.

Currently bootstrapped, the Ahmedabad-headquartered working with funds contributed by the founders and is in the process of initiating talks for raising funds with a few angel investors for their expansions in Mumbai, Pune and New Delhi in the next couple of months.
