Hyderabad: ICT Academy has prepared a blueprint to train over two lakh students in Telangana over next two years as part of its objective to develop the next generation teachers and industry ready students.

ICT Academy will offer industry relevant training programmes in information and communication technology (ICT) to generate more employment especially in tier-2 and 3 towns. It’ll also train two lakh students and 5,000 lecturers at over 100 affiliated colleges and 300 institutions in 31 districts of Telangana.

ICT Academy is an initiative of the Centre in collaboration with the state Governments and Industries. ICT Academy is a not-for-profit society, the first of its kind pioneer venture under the Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model.

ICT Academy is recently endorsed and recommended by NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India Aayog), the National Planning body of Government of India as one of the unique organization for dissemination and replication, which is aligned to the Skill India Vision of the Government of India.

M Sivakumar, CEO, ICT Academy, said: “The Telangana government has taken the corporate social responsibility route for development work and job creation in the state. The Academy would give faculty members and students in Telangana more exposure to the current trends and technologies in the IT industry.

This will help students gain a better understanding about the types of career paths and jobs that are available to them. To achieve the target, we are planning to deploy around 30 more instructors of our academy, who will be imparting knowledge to the faculty of each member institution of the state with after-class-hours training programmes of about 40 hours a week and spanning across one year.”

The training courseware includes data science and big data analytics, Autodesk, AutoCAD, cloud computing, salesforce trailhead courses, R programming, mobile app development, Internet of Things (IoT), etc, besides soft skills.
