Hyderabad: As part of the Telangana government’s vision to spread the IT revolution across the state, tier-II cities will get information technology (IT) parks, according to IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao.

KTR on Monday informed the Telangana Legislative Council that the government is keen on setting up IT parks in tier-II cities and generate employment opportunities for educated youth in rural areas.

Replying to a question in the Legislative Council on Monday, KTR said: “State government has prepared a blueprint for setting up IT parks at district headquarters and Tier-II cities as well.

The government will set up two IT towers in Karimnagar and Nizamabad towns, measuring 25,000 sft each. An IT park, including an IT tower measuring 15,000 sft, is being developed in Warangal and another IT tower spanning 25,000 sft is under construction in Khammam town.

A sanction has been accorded for the development of the same,” he said. The state government is in the process of identifying the land for the proposed IT towers in Nizamabad and Karimnagar. “Preparation of technical estimates are also under progress.
