The Technology Demonstration Network (TDN) of T-Fiber Network project was showcased at the  World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) by Union Electronics and IT Minister Ravishankar Prasad and TS IT Minister KT Rama Rao.

Hyderabad: The Technology Demonstration Network (TDN) of T-Fiber Network project was showcased at the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) by Union Electronics and IT Minister Ravishankar Prasad and TS IT Minister KT Rama Rao.

TDN is a pilot network which intends to showcase the government to government, government to citizens services and the range of applications in sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, education, entertainment that could be delivered over T-Fiber Network.

At the launch, the Union Minister interacted with students of government school in Maheshwaram village over the TDN. A three-way communication between the school students in Maheshwaram, a teacher in Hyderabad and the Union Minister was showcased. Later a telemedicine service between a doctor in Hyderabad and a patient at Mansanpally Primary Health Care Centre was also demonstrated to the Union Minister.

Lastly a modern E-Kiosk set up at Tummaluru village, which provides a range of Government to Citizen services, video-conferencing facility and a host of agriculture services was also demonstrated to Union Minister Ravishankar Prasad and other dignitaries by MD of T-Fiber Sujai Karampuri.

KTR said that the idea behind launching this pilot was to showcase the possibilities that a high speed fiber optic cable will open up for both government and private sector. Minister opined that T-Fiber will usher in revolutionary transformation particularly in agriculture, education, healthcare and also e-commerce sectors.

TDN is established in four villages under Maheshwaram mandal in Ranga Reddy district. Few houses, a school, a primary health centre and grampanchayat offices in Mansanpally
