Recently seen in the damp squib ‘Mirchi Lanti Kurrade’, model-turned-actress Pragya Jaiswal will be testing her luck at the Tollywood turnstile once again with director Krish’s ‘Kanche’. “I had goose bumps when Krish narrated me the story.

It stirred me,” says Pragya Jaiswal, who is playing the role of Gayatri Devi, a rich woman from a royal family in the film, a romantic drama set in the backdrop of World War II. It will open in cinemas on October 2.

Explaining how she bagged the project, the actress, a qualified lawyer, avers, “I first gave my audition for Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Gabbar is Back’ which Krish directed. Unfortunately, I could not make it to the film.

However, after completing the movie, Krish gave me a ring, asking if I was interested to feature in ‘Kanche’. I gave the audition and after listening to the story, I decided to be a part of it straightaway.”

Sharing her working experience with the director, who is known for treading a different path, she says, “Working with Krish will give you a new experience every day. He brings out the best in every actor.

He explains the scene elaborately and we used to rehearse before going for the take. Many a time he okayed our rehearsal shots without informing that he was going for a take,” quips Pragya.

She continues, “Off sets, he is very friendly and cool but once the camera rolls he is a different person. He is so involved in the story that he treats you like the character of the film. He really pushes you to give your best.”

Recalling her memorable incident from the sets, she says, “Each day was special for me. However, my first day of shoot was unique. I had not met any of my co-stars before. Only on day one of the shoot that I was introduced to Varun Tej. And so, the entire sequence looks natural (smiles).”

Pragya, on a signing off note, says that she has many role models “because there is so much to learn from everybody and one person can’t be enough to get inspired.”
