Actor-turned-director Avasarala Srinivas, who is currently filming Nara Rohith and Naga Shaurya-starrer ‘Jo Achyutananda’, we’ve learnt, has agreed in-principle to star in the Telugu remake of Hindi film ‘Hunterrr’. Naveen Medaram, who worked as a VFX artist for several Hollywood films including ‘The Da Vinci Code’, ‘Batman: The Dark Knight’ and ‘Iron Man 2’, will direct the film.

Noted distribution house Abhishek Pictures has bagged the remake rights for the Telugu version and are planning to take it on floors soon. The script work is currently underway and the filmmaker is tailoring the content to suit Telugu nativity. Avasarala is expected to join the sets after he wraps up his directorial venture.

A source close to the production house shares, “After watching ‘Hunterrr’, the team felt the subject can find audience in Telugu too and so, acquired the remake rights. The script work has recently started.” ‘Hunterrr’ revolved around an unassuming sex addict (played by Gulshan Devaiah) and his sex escapades. Released last year, it was a moderate success at the box-office.
