Rattan Mann Films debuts their first film “The Buddhist Monk” online
The Buddhist Monk movie is a feature-length film based on a true story in pre-independent India of a man who was used by the British Raj to pretend to be a Buddhist Monk and steal sacred scriptures for them from the Dalai Lama’s Potala Palace in Tibet.
New Delhi: The Buddhist Monk movie is a feature-length film based on a true story in pre-independent India of a man who was used by the British Raj to pretend to be a Buddhist Monk and steal sacred scriptures for them from the Dalai Lama’s Potala Palace in Tibet.
Starring Madhu Kandhari, an accomplished Indian actress, singer, model and director as Aruna (Nain’s wife); and Shantanu Arora in his first main role as Sukh Nain Singh (The Buddhist Monk).
The film was shot on location in Leh, Ladakh (Kashmir), bordering Tibet, and in Pataudi, Haryana, located near Delhi, India, and is scheduled for a late spring release. It is in Hindi with English subtitles.
Written in 1978 by Rattan Mann, produced by Rattan Mann Films in 2015, and directed by Rattan Mann, and Usha Singh, this movie is the combined effort of the Mann family who pulled everything together to make this meaningful film about a part of India’s history.
