Now actor-filmmaker Srinivas Avasarala, who will play a sex addict in yet-to-be titled Telugu remake of Hindi adult comedy Hunterrr, says the upcoming project will be a bold yet emotional film. Srinivas will reprise Gulshan Devaiah's role which is being helmed by debutant Naveen Medaram.

Joining the bandwagon, producer Madhura Sreedhar is all set to make an adult comedy, Fashion Designer, and roped in veteran writer-director Vamsi. “It’s true that my next production ‘Fashion Designer, s/o Ladies Tailor’ will be an adult sex comedy,” admits Madhura, who feels it is the right time for introducing this bold genre into T-town.

“In exploring varied genres, Bollywood is lagging behind Hollywood by two decades but ahead of T-town by 15 years so there is nothing wrong in introducing a new genre to Telugu viewers. Gen X viewers are a matured lot and can digest an adult comedy made within permissible limits,” he adds.

Maybe, success of Guntur Talkies has triggered confidence in filmmakers to traverse a new path. “We do welcome making of adult films, but its success largely lies in the hands of the director who handles those subjects. Because, it is a thin line that differentiates between healthy adult comedy and vulgarity. So director has loads of responsibility in keeping the bar high.
