It’s too early to say anything on Mr Bachchan’s casting - Krishna Vamsi

The rendezvous between Mahanayak Amitabh Bachchan and Nandamuri Balakrishna on Wednesday in Mumbai created a quite a stir on social media. But as pictures of Krishna Vamsi too present at the venue started surfacing later in the evening, many felt that the meeting had something to do with his long-in-the-planning film ‘Rythu’ with Balakrishna.

Turns out, it has a ‘Rythu’ connection as sources tell us that the director is planning big with his social drama and wants the iconic Big B, who made a fleeting appearance in Nageswara Rao and Nagarjuna-starrer ‘Manam’ in 2014, in a crucial role.

A source close to the development confirms, “Yes, Krishna Vamsi and Balakrishna met Big B to narrate ‘Rythu’. Although Vamsi wanted to meet Big B alone, Balayya felt that he should also be present at the meeting since they are dealing with India’s pride. Vamsi narrated the part that he specially conceived for Big B and impressed by it the latter gave his verbal consent. It is a strong supporting role but whether he plays Balayya’s father or what is under wraps."

He adds, “‘Rythu’ muhurat is scheduled to take place in December and Vamsi wants his principal cast to be in place before he proceeds with the shoot in January-end or early February. It is in this context that he approached Bachchan for the part. Ram Gopal Varma, who is Vamsi’s guru and who is currently making ‘Sarkar 3’ with Bachchan, facilitated the meeting.”

“It’s too early to say anything,” said Krishna Vamsi when Talkies contacted him, clearly not ruling out a possible collaboration with the ‘Pink’ star.
