As a part of the back-back whirlwind promotional tours for his much discussed film ‘Dangal’, actor, director, producer Aamir Khan was in Hyderabad along with his co-star Fatima Sana Shaikh and director Nitish Tiwari.

This visit also gains significance since the film based on a true story of a wrestler and his daughters will also be released in the Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions simultaneously with original Hindi version on December 23.

‘Dangal’ is being touted as a message oriented, inspiring film upholding the rights of women. It has been declared tax-free in Uttar Pradesh.

The distribution team of Disney has applied for tax exemption in all the states so that maximum people can watch the movie.

“It will not affect my movie because I don't work for the box office. I have never thought beyond 'Dangal',” shares the much acclaimed actor.

‘Mhaari chhoriyaan chhoron se kum hain ke?’ – Aamir Khan repeats the message of the film during a conversation over his film at Hyatt Gachibowli, and shares, ‘Dangal’ is a very human story of courage and believing in yourself and your daughters.”

He also speaks on his method of choosing his films, the experience of shooting for ‘Dangal’, his desire to act in a Rajamouli’s film and more.

On choosing different themes for his film!

Concepts are not mine. Generally writers come up with them. I am fortunate that I got this role in ‘Dangal’.

I choose the script if it touches my heart, when I go through it. If it excites me, then I will do the film. I see stories from an audience point of view.

His love for Tollywood!
I would love to do Telugu and Tamil films. In Tollywood, I would love to work with Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. And I would learn my dialogues in Telugu with correct phonetics.

I would love to work with SS Rajamouli; he is my favourite. If Rajamouli is coming up with the movie 'Mahabharata', I would like to do a role like Karna or Krishna.

Family’s view on weight gain
I first did the scenes that show Mahavir as this fat guy and that makes for the 90% of the film, and later I did the fit Mahavir scenes, because I thought It will be good if I put-on weight first and then reduce it so that it will help me to maintain myself. We practiced Hariyanwi for four months and wrestling for eight months.

The toughest part for me was gaining weight in 4-5 months and at the same time losing it in 5 months. With my weight gain and loss my mother and Kiran were upset. They were very concerned about my health.

Wife Kiran’s reaction to new look with every movie
Kiran says, “I have forgotten your original look.” Because I met her after 'Dil Chahta Hai' then I changed my look for 'Mangal Pandey' then comes 'Rang De Basanti' and I keep on changing my look after that.

About his co-stars Fatima and Sanya
I have been acting since 27 years, and these girls are debut actors, but good enough in their work. They fought with the real wrestlers, which was amazing.

Saakshi Tanwar, the natural actress!
Saakshi’s screen test was amazing the first time itself. She is a natural actress. She has a nice combination of skills and emotions.

Aamir as father in real life!
I am a loving father not tough like Mahavir Singh Phogat.

On his daughter Ira’s career choice
My daughter Ira is already a football player, and she has been playing for a number of years. She is enthusiastic about sports. So she will like my movie. But when it comes to her acting in movies - I would love to act with her and would be happy if she wants to do films.

Aamir’s next movie!
From next time onwards I will not take much time. I am going to be back in 8-months. And my next movie is 'Thugs of Hindostan; it's a Yash Raj movie and Vijay Krishna Acharya (Victor) is the writer-director, and I am going to act with Amitabh Bachchan.
