Considering his rising popularity as a suave villain, producer Ram Talluri approached the actor to play a baddy in his upcoming supernatural thriller, but he reportedly demanded Rs 4 core, leaving producer dumbfounded.
Actually, Arvind played the villain in the original Tamil film `Bogan’ and producer wanted to repeat him in the Telugu remake, but the Tamil star quoted an unheard of price for a baddy role in the annals of Tollywood.
“Agreed that Arvind Swamy is a good actor and also can draw in crowds, but demanding Rs 4 crore was bit too much, since he was paid Rs 2.5 crore for his negative role in `Dhruva’ but now jacked up the remuneration, which no villain in Telugu film ever demanded,” says the source, close to the unit. If the deal comes through, Arvind Swamy will be highest paid villain in T-town.
