Three years after her last Telugu film ‘Power’ starring Ravi Teja alongside was released, Hansika Motwani, the Sindhi siren has made a return to T-town with ‘Gautam Nanda’.

By the initial reports streaming in, the choice of hers seems to have been a not-so-good one, with the flick panned for its typically formula-laden treatment by its director Sampath Nandi.

The box office reports would be out soon, but whoever has seen the film has not spoken anything praiseworthy of Hansika’s role as a middle-class girl with a muddle headed lover, played by the hero in one of his roles, albeit with a twist in the end. And also Hansika lost out on the oomph quotient to her co-star Catherine Tresa whose dare-bare act and well-defined role, tilted scales in her favour.

It was in 2007 that this buxom belle Hansika was noticed for her low-profile character in ‘Desamuduru’, a runaway hit with flamboyant Allu Arjun. Later, Hansika had to keep her show going by shuttling between the Telugu and Tamil film industries. So much so, in the last two years she had 10 films or so in Chennai filmdom while reducing her presence in Telugu.

In the decade, that this child artiste-turned- female lead had acted in around 40-odd films in all languages including Malayalam. Nevertheless, Kollywood makers offered her best of chances with leading stars like Sivakarthikeyan , Jeeva and Vishal in the last few years. Despite a multi-lingual exposure, things seem to be akin to a touch-and-go situation for Hansika.
