It is fun to work with Devi Sri Prasad, says Neha Bhasin

Popular playback singer, who made her singing debut in T-town with ‘Current’, has returned to create a lot of buzz with her latest number “Swing Zara Swing” in ‘Jai Lava Kusa’. In a tête-à-tête with Hans Talkies, she talks about her B-town career and life
Neha in her happening career, has sung numerous songs in many Bollywood blockbusters including ‘Sultan’,`Neerja’, ‘Fashion’, ‘Gunday’ and many more. Speaking about her experience of working with ace music director Devi Sri Prasad, she says,
“It’s always fun working with him, his energy and never ending madness are the qualities I like the most,’ She adds, “I always like to complete a song within two hours but that never happens while working with DSP.
“Devi wants me to experiment with my voice and tries to get the best out of me,’ she points out. Though Telugu is not her mother tongue, she always manages to grasp the minute details and the local accent. “It’s very challenging for me to sing in a language which I don’t understand.
I always make sure that I pronounce the words correctly. Whereas, when I sing in Hindi, Punjabi, or other languages that I know, I need not worry about the diction. I just concentrate on the song.”
She is very fond of her family and enjoys spending some quality time with them. “I was born and brought up in Delhi; my father is a lawyer in the High Court and mother is a home maker. My mother is passionate about music and she supported me throughout my journey. My two siblings are also very dear to me”.
