Strategising better imaging

It was a rare coming together of an exclusive blend of talent. Canon, a global leader in imaging segment, decided to zero in on Hyderabad for the national launch of the top-of-the-line model Cinema EOS digital cinematography camera, the EOS C700.

In keeping with the exclusivity, it was a collaboration that saw the presence of personnel from Telugu Cinematography Association, SICA, CODEX and Prasad Film Laboratories. They included Cinematographer KK Senthil Kumar, Ajay Vincent, Hari Anumolu and Ramesh Prasad from Prasad Labs.

Speaking on the special screening for Tollywood cinematographers, Eddie Udagawa, Vice-President of Consumer Imaging and Information Centre, Canon India said that their latest innovation was bound to be welcomed by the motion picture and TV production fraternity as Cinema EOS digital cinematography camera, the EOS C700has a resolution of up to 4.5K, which was in line with the sort of high-end equipment that is patronised by the creative lot from Hollywood.

“This is part of Canon India’s strategic bid to serve the imaging segment. It has been constant endeavour to bring every international product portfolio to the Indian market. Having pioneered and drawn acclaim with its immensely resourceful DSLR technology, Canon has decidedly changed the motion picture segment by ushering in a new level of cinematic experience. EOS C700 is aimed at serving mainstream cinema and television production requirements,” Udagawa pointed out.

Incidentally, EOS C700 boasts of state-of-the-art global shutter technology that captures sports, action, concerts and events with high precision. The camera has a unique design that makes it compatible with a wide variety of lens configurations.

Seemingly, the people, who were present on the occasion, marvelled at the technological advancement that was showcased given the multiple benefits that cinematographers and directors of photography of every hue could take advantage of in getting picture-perfect shots bearing impeccable clarity and clinical precision.

After Tollywood experts were given a glimpse of the multipurpose camera, Canon will now demonstrate it in front of ace DOPs from Chennai over the weekend.
