“For Spyder it was very difficult & intense and I ended up injuring my knee & the doctor said I needed surgery, but I can’t keep the crew waiting for 3-4 months, so we had a physiotherapist on set”

Superstar Mahesh Babu recently spoke in an interview to CNN-News18 channel in regard to the Spyder Movie Promotions. The Interview was taken by Rajeev Masand and Mahesh Babu has revealed some interesting facts about himself.

Here's the full interview:

On Entry Into Bollywood:
“I think it depends on the project and the director when somebody approaches me with an exciting idea”

On Remakes:
“I am not into the remakes. I never liked that idea and my dream was always that a Telugu film should be made in Telugu and then everybody should talk about it. Mr SS Rajamouli achieved my dream, so I know that you can dream so that’s how I am and now with Spyder I am coming closer to my dream.”

On Nepotism:
“It will only help for the first film like for your launch it might help but then after that you are own your own only talent can succeed like for me I would say there was a huge pressure on me. My first film definitely was a big hit because of my father’s fans supporting, I got this opening but my second, third, fourth film just fell flat on its face and I had to prove myself with the films. So it all gets down to your talent if you are talented you will be a success.”

On Pre-release Excitement:
“No matter how many years you work, how many years you’ve been in the industry…when your film releases every actor will feel excitement.”

On Making the right film choices:
“It’s very hard and you just have to keep your fingers crossed & depend on your judgment, what kind of film you choose. Especially for south films, the stakes, budget is so high, you can’t afford to have error of judgment”

On Content-Driven Films:
“There is an audience for that too. Most of the content-driven films are working in Hindi too. But from big stars I think the audiences expect big films.”

On Spyder:
“I wouldn’t say it’s a typical James Bond kind of spy thriller. But it’s got its elements. It is a typical AR Murugadoss film, where the audience would be sitting on the edge of their seat.”

On Doing Action:
“For Spyder it was very difficult & intense and I ended up injuring my knee & the doctor said I needed surgery, but I can’t keep the crew waiting for 3-4 months, so we had a physiotherapist on set”
