Gopichand gets into action mode

Action hunk Gopichand’s career has been oscillating between big hits like ‘Jill’ and duds like ‘Oxygen’ and now again, he is banking on another action film ‘Pantham’ to revive his winning habit. Pretty damsel Mehreen plays a school teacher and love interest of Gopi, while writer-turned-director K Chakravarthi, who penned star-studded movies like ‘Jai Lava Kusa,’ ‘Power’ and ‘Balupu,’ is making his debut as a director.

Justifying the title, producer Radha Mohan said “Director Chakri is making an action film with a message.” The film is getting ready to enthrall viewers during summer holidays in May.

Gopichand has to pick novel themes to sustain his winning streak, instead of doing films that rid on his action image with wafer-thin plots. Nevertheless, Gopi will be taking on his colleagues like Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun at the box office, as the films of these stars are also arriving during summer, s etting up an interesting clash at the ticket counters.
