A tribute to the legendary actress
Legendary actress Savitri ruled the roost in the 1950s and 60s with her riveting performances and good looks. Even though she was also popular in Tamil Nadu, she carved out a niche for herself in Telugu to become a household name among the Telugu people. Now a biopic on her life, ‘Mahanati,’ is getting ready for release, starring talented actress Keerthy Suresh in the title role.

“We are thankful to our efficient technical team which supported us throughout in this epic journey. We feel proud to have produced this esteemed project, and upheld the standards of the legendary Savitri,” said a statement from the production house. “Keerthy Suresh wiped the tears rolling down her cheeks as she lit the diyas in front of Savitri,” the statement added.
The much-awaited biopic is set to hit the screens on May 9, to give the audience a never-before experience. Director Nag Ashwin who showed sparks of his directorial brilliance in ‘Yevade Subramanyam’ has to live up to the big expectations.
