he pre-release function of the movie ‘Pantham’ was held on a grand scale in Vijayawada on Thursday. Releasing the audio on the occassion, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Irrigation Deviveni Umamaheshwara Rao, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that he was a great admirer of the late director T Krishna.
The pre-release function of the movie ‘Pantham’ was held on a grand scale in Vijayawada on Thursday. Releasing the audio on the occassion, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Irrigation Deviveni Umamaheshwara Rao, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that he was a great admirer of the late director T Krishna, who made several great thought provoking films between the years, 1983-85, like ‘Neti Bharatam,’ Repati Pourulu’, ‘Vandemataram’ ‘Devalayam’ and ‘Pratighatana’. Such movies are relevant even today and the present generation could learn a lot just by watching them, he added.
He said the people of the two Telugu states should be proud of the late T Krishna. Describing hero Gopichand as an Ongole Bull and an aggressive actor, the Minister said that Gopichand, like his father, was trying to highlight the social, political and economic problems through his films and enlighten the society. He said that ‘Eetharam Pictures’, under which T Krishna used to make films, should not be wound up and expressed the hope that films would be made under this banner in future too. Hero Gopichand said that it was his 25th film and an important milestone in his career.
He said that after listening to the storyline narrated by Murella Prasad and Ramesh Reddy, he agreed immediately to do the film without any hesitation as it was a message-oriented film, although it may not be on a par with films directed by his late father T Krishna. The director K Chakravarthi did a splendid job and similarly, producer Radhamohan, a man of great aesthetic sense, did not compromise on the high technical values at any stage in the big budget film, he added. Producer KK Radha Mohan thanked Gopichand for agreeing to act for his 25th film under his banner Satya Sai Arts. He said that Gopi Sundar scored excellent music for the film. The film would be released worldwide on July 5.
