Director B Jaya dies of heart attack

Tollywood director B. Jaya passed away late on Thursday after she suffered a massive heart attack. She was 54.

Jaya who was suffering from a prolonged illness breathed her last while she was undergoing treatment at a hospital. She was the wife of public relations officer (PRO) BA Raju. 

Jaya started off her career as a journalist and later worked as a general manager for a cinema magazine. She turned as a director with the movie Chantigadu. 

Born in Ravulapalem of East Godavari district, she emerged as a dynamic lady director with her movies Premikulu, Gundammagari Manavadu, Sawal, Lovely and Vaishakam. 

She had bagged a silver crown award for her last movie Vaishakam.
