It is a known fact that Mani Ratnam had initially written 'Rudra' character keeping Ram Charan in mind. But as Mega Powerstar was fully packed with back to back schedules, he politely rejected the film. The role then went to Tamil star Simbu. The movie was recently released and it is evident that Simbu played a grey shaded role. It wasn't the first time for Simbu and his fans accepted it many times. But Ram Charan has never taken up a negative role till now. If he had accepted that role then it would have dented his image.
So, though Ramcharan missed the chance to work with ace director Mani Ratnam, the Mega fans are happy that their favourite hero had kept himself away from the negative role in the film.
