Following instructions of the government, the farmers started natural farming in 131 clusters in 13 districts in the state during the kharif.

The government has instructed farmers to start natural farming in another 160 clusters in state from the next kharif. Agriculture officials will soon hold a meeting with the farmers and motivate them to start natural farming and explain advantages of natural farming. They will identify some more clusters in all districts in the state.

In natural farming cow dung and cow urine are used as fertilizers. At present some farmers who started natural farming are getting cow dung and cow urine from the gosalas. To encourage them to start natural farming the state government is distributing cows on subsidy to the farmers who started natural farming. A subsidy of Rs.10,000 is being given to the farmers.

The farmers started natural farming in 10 -clusters in Guntur district during kharif. Agriculture department officials have identified 125 farmers who started natural farming in the district to sanction cows on subsidy. So far the officials have distributed 40 cows on subsidy and processing is going on to release subsidy to the remaining farmers.

The officials are planning to provide marketing facility for organic food. They will promote organic food among shopping malls and big departmental stores and also set up stalls in the rythu bazaars. Joint director of Agriculture V.D. Krupa Das said "The farmers who cultivated paddy under natural farming will get less 10 % less yield, they will get up to 20 % percent premium price because demand for organic food is increasing.

We are planning to set up organic food stalls in the rythu bazaars for the convenience of the consumers soon.We will also provide marketing facility for the organic food items produced by the farmers. So far we have distributed 40 cows on subsidy to the farmers. The government directed to start natural farming in another 160 clusters in 13 districts in the state from kharif."
