Hyderabad: The delegates attending the World Telugu Conference will savour traditional Telangana delegates. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, including Hyderabadi dum biryani, would be served during the five-day conference.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has directed the organisers of the World Telugu Conference to serve traditional Telangana food items to all the 8,000 delegates.

Explaining the highlights of the menu, S V Satyanarayana, Vice Chancellor of Telugu University, said chintakaya tokku (tamarind pickle), pahcipulusu, bobbera gudaalu, chanige gudaalu, malida muddalu, ambali, gatka, jonna rottelu, sajja rottelu, sarva pindi, sakkinalu, murukulu, puntikura tokku, chintakaya and pachimirapakaya tokku would be part of the vegetarian spread. Regarding non-veg spread, he said paya, goat head curry, Hyderbadi dum biryani and boti Kura would be served.

The Chief Rationing Officer (CRO), Hyderabad, is responsible for catering of food for all the five days of the conference. The food items will be prepared at the centralised cooking centre. But, the food would be supplied at all the eight venues.

Beautification and cleaning will be taken up by the Roads & Buildings department and the Municipal Administration Department. This time the government has decided to give away a book, instead of a memento, to the delegates.

Satyanarayan said the book ‘Telugu Vachakam’ would be distributed to all the delegates. The book consists of Telugu letters, alphabet, Telugu years, numbers, thidulu, seasons, ethical poems and sataka padyalu etc. The book was designed and prepared by the State Council of Educational Research and Training, (SCERT) Telangana. Around 30,000 copies are being printed for free distribution.

A handloom bag, with brochure, Telugu Vachakam book and some basic literature would be given to all the delegates. Each of the delegates and volunteers would get a Certificate of Participation in the World Telugu Conference.

The conference would be held from 10 am to evening 5 pm. From 5 pm to 6 pm, literary activities would be held at LB Stadium and from 6 pm to 10 pm Shistya dance performances, folk dances would be organised.

On accommodation of the delegates, the Vice-Chancellor said for VIP delegates invited by Telangana government, including Padma Sri, Gnanpith and Sahitya Academi awardees, we would arrange vehicles. For other delegates, mini buses would be arranged for pick-up and drop from the accommodation centres to the venues of the conference.

Transportation and accommodation will be taken care by the Tourism department. Satyanarayana the services of volunteers who gave their best at the recent Global Entrepreneurship Summit would be utilised for the hospitality of delegates. These volunteers were trained by reputed hotel management institutions and hotels.
