Hyderabad: The Task Force police on Saturday busted an alleged fake job consultancy racket and arrested the operator. According to police, as many as 126 passports, 32 application forms, huge quantity of advertising material were seized from the office in Golkonda.

On credible information, the police of west zone Task Force had raided MG Tours & Travels Company operated by Mohammed Anwaruddin (32) of Tolichowki under the name “Career Consultancy.” The police said he had been cheating unemployed youths and job aspirants by promising to secure them visas to go abroad.

Task Force DCP B Limba Reddy, in a press note on Saturday, said accused Anwaruddin had been running the consultancy for quite some time. He advertised in newspapers and distributed pamphlets, posing as an authorised agent to recruit Indians for foreign employers.

“Anwaruddin collected Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 from each job aspirant on pretext of providing high-paid jobs overseas. He advertised to recruit bike drivers, car drivers, supervisors, masons, daily labourers, carpenters, foremen, draftsmen (Civil) with salary ranging between Rs 50,000 and Rs one lakh.

He interviewed the candidates, collected their passports and money for processing and cheated them,” said the DCP. The DCP said the accused sent the resumes of applicants to other recruiting agencies int Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi, and also in Kuwait, to impress the aspirants. “He (Anwaruddin) is not an authorised agent.

He violated the norms of Ministry of Labour and cheated hundreds of job aspirants. Earlier, Anwaruddin was arrested by the Golkonda police in similar case, but after being released from jail, he changed the name of consultancy and continued to cheat gullible people
