Three drown in Tatipudi reservoir
A jolly trip turned into a tragedy as three drowned in Tatipudi reservoir at Gantyada Mandal of Vizianagaram district on Tuesday. Deputy Superintendent of Police K Ramana said that seven members of two families of Simhachalam area in Visakhapatnam city visited Tatipudi and stayed in cottages.
Vizianagaram: A jolly trip turned into a tragedy as three drowned in Tatipudi reservoir at Gantyada Mandal of Vizianagaram district on Tuesday. Deputy Superintendent of Police K Ramana said that seven members of two families of Simhachalam area in Visakhapatnam city visited Tatipudi and stayed in cottages.

Amidst enjoyment, five of them stepped into the reservoir for swimming. But they were unable to find deep pits in the reservoir and slipped into the pits.
While K Gayatri (20) was about to drown, K Ashok Kumar (22) tried to save her but both of them failed to float. G Charan (24) tried to save both of them and jumped into the water, but also slipped into the deep pit and drowned.
Others standing on the bank screamed for help. Tourists and local people present at the accident spot also tried to help them, but failed to rescue.
Within few minutes, all three drowned completely. Police and revenue staff rushed to the spot after receiving information and tried to recover the dead bodies.
