2 women rescued from Hussainsagar

Hyderabad: Two women, including an orchestra singer from Mumbai, were rescued by the Lake Police when they jumped into Hussainsagar in a bid to commit suicide on Wednesday.
According to the police, M Kalyani (25), a maid from Secunderabad, on Tuesday, was beaten by her husband in a drunken brawl over a petty issue. Upset over the incident, Kalyani attempted suicide by jumping into the lake near police outpost on Tank Bund.
In another incident, Niloufer (27), singer from Mumbai, who is living in Malakpet, attempted to take her own life by jumping into the lake as her boyfriend postponed the marriage with her.
The police said the women were rescued by the patrolling personnel and counselled before handing them over to their relatives.
