Girl studying in residential school found pregnant

Kurnool: In a startling incident, a Class X student of Peddakandla Social Welfare School was declared as 5th month pregnant, when she consulted a doctor for recurring headache.

The incident has come to light on Tuesday after her father was called to take her to Rudravaram for medical check up.

According to the principal P Venkata Subba Rao, the girl complained many a time that she was suffering from severe headace and is unable to concentrate on studies.

“I asked the resident nurse P Santha Sowbhagya to take the girl to the government hospital in Allagadda and get medical check up done.

After the check up she came back to hostel,” he informed. Despite of treatment the girl’s health condition did not improve.

So they called up her father, who came to hostel on Sunday and took her with him to Pedda Kambaluru village in Rudravaram mandal.

“There the girl was taken to a doctor and after medical examination it has come to know that she was pregnant.

We came to know about pregnancy though the girl’s father,” said Subba Rao. According to warden Santha Kumari, there are no traces of pregnancy.

We use to take the attendance of menstrual cycle every month from each and every student.

We were shocked on learning about the incident that she is pregnant and is carrying fifth month.

She also revealed that in the month of May, the girl left for Pedda Padakandla citing summer camp. “Something might have gone wrong at Pedda Padakandla,” Santha Kumari said.

Allagadda CI Dastagiri Babu ruled out the chance of boys entering into the hostel. “On learning about the incident we have inspected the hostel.

There are no chances of such incidents. Something might have gone wrong at the girl’s village,” he said.
