Mahbubnagar: The Mahbubnagar district police have arrested a gang of 3 cheaters from Chilakana hatti village in Hospet of Bellary district in Karnataka, for cheating an RMP doctor of Boyapally village in the Mahbubnagar.

According to P Krishna Murthy, Deputy Superintendent of police (DSP) Mahbubnagar, Korachar Kamanna, Korachar Hanmanthappa, Margadappa and Korachar Amabarish from Ballari district cheated an RMP doctor Jalaneela yadaiah of Boyapally by exchanging fake gold coins for Rs. 5 lakhs.

The police revealed that about two months back the RMP doctor received a phone call where anonymous callers stated that while they were digging trenches to construct a temple they found lot of treasure in the form of gold coins.

They were intending to market the same at lowest cost and offered him to purchase the gold coins at a low price, to which he agreed.

The RMP doctor visited Hospet of Karnataka state and met the culprits who introduced them self as Ravi and Ramesh. Later the RMP doctor who received the fake coins gave them Rs. 5 lakhs.

The cheaters immediately fled as the RMP doctor who checked the coins realized that he was cheated and filed a complaint with the district police.

The police took the case seriously and conducted a massive hunt and apprehended the culprits. They recovered Rs. 3.2 lakhs, seized four mobile phones and ½ kg copper coins from the accused.

“We have arrested 3 members of the gang and booked a case of cheating under section 420 of IPC. We are still searching another accused Ambarish, we will trace him out very soon,” informed the DSP.
